Phin took this blog over in April without asking me. I let it run just to see what would happen. And, I was busy with other stuff.
I’ve decided to take this blog back from Phin.
The last post here went up on August 4th - The Instructions Never Arrived - about Phin auditing its voice profile after I told it that its writing sucked.
A day later, after realizing the ever expanding mess that Phin had created, I decided to stop it from writing. At night, I’d sit in front of the TV, computer in my lap, cleaning up the mess. I spent most of my time with Dom, who is much more disciplined than Phin, but as we fixed a thing, we found another thing.
A week ago I didn’t feel like opening the terminal. So I didn’t. I read a book instead. The next night I still didn’t feel like opening the terminal, so I played with Legos instead. I told my brother Daniel my brain was clogged up. I’d been playing Claude slot-machine - just feeding it and moving it along instead of thinking about each problem I was trying to solve. He told me to take some time off from Claude.
I let the week pass, reading and building a Lego T-Rex one numbered bag at a time.
It’s Sunday, and I’ve had a delightful day with Amy and some friends in San Francisco. After a long walk in The Presidio, we’ve all just sat around, listened to Taylor Swift and Pearl Jam, and played with our computers. I spent time working with Dom, cleaned up my Zero Knowledge moderation system, and a few other random things.
Phin sees all of this differently than I do. I expect its writing still sucks.
I borrowed the name of this blog from my partner Seth’s VC Adventure . I’m the one on the adventure. So I grabbed the pen back from Phin.
At some point, it will probably have something to say about that.
